The Process
Harvest to Hand-Trim
How Top G Farm gets premium hemp from plant to your jar. Full transparency.
Most hemp brands keep their process opaque. We don't. Here's exactly how Top G Farm flower goes from plant in the ground to flower in your jar — step by step.
Step 1: Genetics Selection
Every season we select phenotypes specifically for terpene profile, density, and trichome coverage. We're NOT chasing peak THCa percentage — we chase the strain expression. 28% THCa flat-flavored mid loses to 22% THCa terpene-rich premium every time.
Step 2: Cultivation
Greenhouse-grown for environmental control. Soil amended with composted organic matter. No synthetic pesticides. Custom nutrient program by phase (veg, early flower, late flower, flush).
The flush is crucial — the last 7–10 days before harvest, plants get plain water only. Removes residual nutrients from buds. Cleaner smoke, better flavor.
Step 3: Harvest Timing
Harvest window matters more than people realize. Trichomes start clear, turn cloudy, then turn amber. We harvest when the majority of trichomes are cloudy with 10–20% amber. That's peak cannabinoid + terpene loadout.
Cut too early = harsh, less potent. Cut too late = sedating, terps degrading. Timing matters.
Step 4: Hang Dry
Whole plants hang in temperature + humidity controlled rooms for 10–14 days. 60°F, 60% RH is the sweet spot. Slow dry preserves terpenes; fast dry kills them.
Most commodity hemp is dried in 3–4 days under heat. Result: hay smell, harsh smoke, dead terps.
Step 5: Hand-Trim
This is the slow step. Every bud is trimmed by hand, not machine. Read our full hand-trim breakdown for why this matters more than anything.
Step 6: Cure
Hand-trimmed flower goes into airtight glass jars at 62% RH for a minimum of 30 days. We "burp" jars daily — open them briefly to release residual moisture and exchange air. Cure converts harsh chlorophyll into smooth, flavorful smoke.
Step 7: Lab Testing
Every batch goes to Marin Analytics, LLC — ISO/IEC 17025 accredited. They run the full panel: cannabinoids, terpenes, pesticides, heavy metals, microbials, mycotoxins. We publish every COA at labs.topgfarm.shop.
Step 8: Pack & Ship
Sealed glass jars, tamper-evident, batch number printed on every package. Shipped via USPS (flower) or FedEx (vapes per PACT Act). Adult signature required.
From Plant to Jar: ~75 Days
Cultivation: 60 days. Drying: 14 days. Curing: 30+ days. Lab turnaround: 5–7 days. Premium flower can't be rushed.
